Capabilities

IQM Research Institute delivers integrated research, development, and translational support across advanced sensing, micro- and nanofabrication, bioscience, and analytical chemistry. Our multidisciplinary environment is designed to move ideas from early-stage discovery through prototyping, testing, validation, and pre-production development, supporting applications in health, national security, advanced materials, and emerging technology.

Our capabilities include advanced sensor and microsystems development, cleanroom fabrication, MEMS and microelectronics processing, device packaging, simulation and design, and a wide range of materials and molecular characterization tools. We support work in areas such as pathogen and cancer detection, bioimplants, human-machine interfaces, retina and visual cortex systems, and other complex device platforms that require close integration of engineering, biology, and materials science.

IQM Research Institute also offers strong bioscience and translational research capabilities, including cell and tissue culture, microbiological testing, biointegration laboratories, enhanced BSL-2 environments, and infrastructure supporting regulated animal and human research. These resources are complemented by advanced analytical and imaging platforms that enable biological evaluation, materials analysis, and performance verification in clinically and operationally relevant settings.

In addition, our analytical chemistry and development laboratories support formulation, synthesis, sample preparation, mock manufacturing, and process optimization. With capabilities such as GC-MS, UV exposure testing, UV-Vis spectroscopy, solvent removal, distillation and laboratory-scale process development, IQM Research Institute provides a unified platform for advancing technologies from concept to practical application.
